Behind the Scenes at an Auction House

This workshop provides an insider’s look at the journey of artworks through the auction process, offering a unique perspective on the works featured at the Biennale. Participants will engage with the practices, stories, and expertise that shape Christie’s role as one of the world’s leading fine art and luxury auction houses. The session includes two parts: "The Journey of a Work of Islamic Art: From Consignment to Auction" and "A Tour of the Biennale Through the Eyes of a Christie’s Specialist," led by Sara Plumbly, Director and Head of the Islamic and Indian Art department at Christie’s London.
