About the event
To conclude our symposium, 'TURUQ: The Many Ways of Food', we gather for a feast that celebrates the heart of Jeddah’s culinary traditions, not in restaurant kitchens, but in the homes of its people. 20 cooks from Jeddah, each carrying the flavors and stories of their own households, will bring to the table dishes that reflect the everyday meals of the city. These cooks have been thoughtfully selected by Zahar AlSayed, the Feast’s creative director, shaping both the culinary and visual experience of the evening.
This gathering is more than just a meal; it is a moment of shared experience, where the lessons, conversations, and memories of Turuq come together in abundance. It is an opportunity to break bread, to taste the familiar and the unexpected, and to reflect on the ways in which food connects us across lands, generations, homes, and histories.
Join us at this open table, where food is honored as an essential and most authentic form of cultural expression, and a bridge between tradition and contemporary life.
Plated by Zahar Alsayed, with a participatory activation by Khulood Hussain.
What will you learn?
Participants will experience how home cooking preserves heritage, reflects identity, and brings people together، while gathering to reflect on the stories, traditions, and learnings shared throughout TURUQ.
Who is it for?
This feast is for anyone who cares to reflect on food and the disciplines it intersects with.
