About the event

In this talk, food writer Barbara Massaad and Ahmed Zaki of Azka Farms will take participants on a journey through the Slow Food movement and its presence in Saudi Arabia. They will explore the importance of sustainable food practices, the origins of Slow Food KSA, and the initiatives dedicated to preserving local food traditions.

From personal stories to a collective vision for a more sustainable future, this conversation will highlight how food connects us to our heritage and shapes the way forward, setting the stage for the Turuq symposium as we reflect on food’s role and evolution from the dawn of civilization to modernity.
