Collecting with Purpose: From Passion to Legacy

How does one collect with intention? How is legacy through art shaped across generations? This conversation invites participants to explore the personal, political, and poetic dimensions of collecting art.

Led by Marie-Claire Thijsen, Head of Modern & Contemporary Middle Eastern Art Sales at Christie’s, the first part of the session guides participants through the foundational principles of building a collection, aligning personal values with aesthetic choices, etc.

The second part features insights from Dr. Amin Jaffer, Director of the Al Thani Collection and former International Director of Asian Art at Christie’s. Dr. Jaffer reflects on the evolving responsibilities of collectors and curators alike.
