About the event

Abdulrahman and Turki Gazzaz, the brothers behind Bricklab, a Jeddah-based multidisciplinary architectural and design studio, present their second publication: Saudi Modern: Jeddah in Transition 1938-1964, in this book talk.

The book explores the urban and architectural transformation of Jeddah since the discovery of oil. This collection of essays and case studies bears witness to the dramatic evolution in Jeddah from traditional to contemporary structures, and to the profound impact this shift has had on communities and shared values.
