Dr. Mohamad Kashef is a Professor of Architecture and Urbanism at Effat University. He holds a Master’s degree in Islamic Architecture from the American University in Cairo and a Ph.D. in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Waterloo, Canada. As a Registered Architect with the Ontario Association of Architects and a member of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC), Dr. Kashef brings expertise to his field. Dr. Kashef's scholarly contributions to Islamic architecture are extensive, with numerous publications that have advanced the understanding of this discipline. He worked in the preservation of Islamic architectural monuments and historic districts, showcasing his commitment to cultural heritage. Notably, his preservation work in Cairo's Citadel District earned a nomination for the Aga Khan Award for Architecture.
