About the event
"Topographies of Heritage" is a phrase that metaphorically explores how cultural, historical, and even emotional landscapes shape the collective identity. This session explores how Saudi Arabia’s heritage, shaped by geography, migration, faith, and design, forms a living cultural topography. From historic architecture to contemporary reinterpretations, participants will examine how memory, identity, and landscape intersect in the Kingdom’s vast region, and namely the western ‘Hijaz’ region, and how artists, architects, and historians are shaping its evolving narrative today.
