In collaboration with Turquoise Mountain and designer Abeer Seikaly, this talk explores the rich heritage of Islamic textiles and handmade crafts. Sotheby’s Alexandra Roy joins Dr. Thalia Kennedy, Creative Director at Turquoise Mountain, to reflect on the stories, materials, and techniques that define these traditions, from fine weaving to vibrant embroidery. Abeer Seikaly offers insight into how these practices continue to inspire contemporary design, connecting the past with the present.
