The Studio as a Laboratory: Invent a New Plant

The FN Lab introduces a series of participatory workshops where children are invited to assume the role of the “artist in the studio” and apply their own design elements to the Studio Youth space. These workshops encourage collaborative art-making practices: children will explore new techniques and learn how to work collectively on their final artworks. In this workshop, you will explore the potential of the studio as a testing site for investigation, material experimentation and imagination. Using resources found in nature, you will examine indigenous plants and use your findings to re-create your very own plant using new materials and techniques like paper mache!
