About the event
In this timeless comedic piece of Shadow Theatre featuring the classic characters "Karagöz" and "Hacivat", mischief, magic, and mayhem take center stage!
When "Karagöz" carelessly tosses a plastic bottle into the sea, he unwittingly triggers the appearance of a mysterious sea creature, a giant, though good-hearted, monster, determined to rid the seas of waste. But now, he’s angry, and "Karagöz" finds himself face-to-face with the creature's wrath! Will "Karagöz" find a way to talk his way out of trouble, or will the monster's fury get the better of him?
Turkish shadow theatre, known as "Karagöz", is a tradition that dates back to the 17th century during the Ottoman Empire. "Karagöz" and his best friend "Hacivat" are featured in every performance, bringing laughter, absurdity, and imagination to life.
