Storytelling Session with Rama Saputra - NJOKOBOK juice bar by Apolonija Šušteršič and Youssou Diop

NJOKOBOK juice bar is activated by a series of storytelling sessions, which are inspired by the Arabic traditions of popular literature and the figure of the hakawati, which means “storyteller” in Arabic. Its culture and tradition are passed orally from generation to generation. At NJOKOBOK different hakawatis, who typically engage audiences with their tales in coffee shops and souks, were invited throughout the Biennale to share stories, conveying their respective cultural traditions. For the closing week, we have invited storyteller Rama Saputra, an Indonesian artist who is conducting research on music instruments in Saudi Arabia.
