About the event
Beadmaking in glass is a little bit of physics, a little bit of chemistry, and a lot of art. Rotation, parallel handling , gravity and heat all come into play in this exciting beadmaking technique.
Who is this for: Adults
What you will gain: This workshop will teach you how to manipulate glass with heat and gravity to create beautiful stripes and shifts in color and patterns. You'll come out of it with your own special little glass beads, and new knowledge on one of the world's most ancient crafts.
Notes
Safety Guidelines: Dress Conveniently: Cotton clothes are the way to go since they’re less flammable. Steer clear of synthetic abayas and thawbs. Please ensure your clothing fits snugly, especially with long sleeves, to minimize risks and ensure your safety. Aprons Provided: You will be provided with an apron that must be worn at all times in the studio to protect your clothing. Jewelry and Watches: Please remove any dangling jewelry and bulky watches to prevent accidents during the workshop. Hair Safety: If you have long hair, we ask that you tie it back securely. Footwear: Closed, covered shoes are a must – no flip flops or sandals allowed. Avoid Perfume: Please refrain from wearing perfume during the workshop as it is flammable.
