Read My Voice

Introducing the format of the “zine,” a form of self-publishing driven by artists and different sub- cultures, the artist guides participants through producing a (fan)zine on a chosen topic, either individually or collectively. The workshop draws from the artist’s own zine regina—an artwork in the format of women’s fashion and lifestyle magazines that question the representation of female identities in mass media. Participants may choose to work digitally or analogue.

Please bring (optional):

- fabrics to work with, which can be cut, and written or drawn on

- participants who want to work digitally, please bring your own devices - either laptop or mobile with software you are familiar with

- magazines or zines you’d like to share with the group, physical or online

- photos and/or magazines to use for cut-outs and collages

- any other materials you think could work for the pages of a (fan)zine
