About the event

This workshop, led by Dr. Silke Ackermann from the History of Science Museum at the University of Oxford, will focus on the Astrolabe, a highly advanced astronomical instrument that has been used in the Islamic world for over 1,000 years. It will include a description of the astrolabes on display at this year’s Islamic Arts Biennale.

Participants will discover the significance of the astrolabe, its role in Islamic science, and how it connects cultures through shared knowledge.
