This workshop introduces Polaroid emulsion lifting, a technique where the emulsion layer of an instant photograph is carefully separated and transferred onto various surfaces like water, paper, and textiles. The process blends instant photography with mixed media, emphasizing sustainable art practices while celebrating both traditional and contemporary artistic expression.
Requirements:
Participants can optionally bring their own material for collaging (e.g.,family pictures, film negatives, found objects, fabrics, magazines, plants, portraits, and any photos they’ve taken.)
What will you learn?
Participants will use found objects from the Islamic Biennale grounds to apply to their photographs.
