My Kid can Paint Like That: Exploring Etel Adnan

Sotheby’s is organizing a children’s workshop, focusing on the acclaimed Lebanese American artist and poet, Etel Adnan.

Who is this for: Children aged 8-12

What you will gain: The session will explore Adnan’s life and the profound influences of her natural surroundings (such as California’s Mount Tamalpais) on her art. Children will follow Adnan's lead and create paintings inspired by landscapes similar to those that influenced her.  

By delving into her work and practice, young artists will learn how personal experiences shape artistic expression. We'll provide them with the opportunity to explore art history and Adnan’s legacy, while also cultivating their own creative voices and self-expression.
