Ikebana
Masterclass

About the event
This masterclass delves into Ikebana, a profound Japanese art form beyond mere flower arrangement. It encapsulates the harmony between humans and nature, fostering introspection and spatial awareness.
Who is this for: Adults
What you will gain: Over three days, participants engage in theoretical study, fieldwork observing plants, and practical flower arranging. Ikebana not only imparts artistic knowledge but also serves as a journey of self-discovery and appreciation for nature's beauty. Below is a breakdown of each day:
DAY 1: You'll get a brief history of Ikebana and how it relates to the Japanese perception of nature. This includes exploring how cultural attitudes, similar to plants, are shaped in response to the environment. We'll discuss Saudi perspectives on nature and culture.
DAY 2: You'll conduct a nature observation at a beautiful garden abundant in vegetation. Engaging with farmers or site managers, you'll deepen your understanding of plant life.
DAY 3: You'll practice Ikebana using prepared materials and your own vases. You'll be able to create your own piece, all while receiving feedback and guidance from our Ikebana instructors.
