Gilding on Square Kufic Calligraphy

This workshop introduces participants to the historical and artistic significance of the Kufic script and gold leaf used in Islamic manuscripts. It begins with a presentation on Square Kufic's origins and the rules that govern its writing style. Participants then engage in a hands-on activity, writing their names in Square Kufic on graph paper, guided by a handout illustrating Arabic letters. 

Requirements
A laptop or tablet (optional) to access digital design options and create compositions online.

What will you learn?
Participants will have a gilded A3 artwork, with the option to frame their work in a black frame.
