About the event
In this workshop, participants will explore Dhofari (region in Oman) jewelry, where every bead holds a name, a story, and deep cultural significance. Once a thriving tradition, Dhofari silversmithing faced near extinction with the passing of the last female silversmith in 2021.
In collaboration with these emerging silversmiths—who completed their training in October 2024—they will work with custom-designed silver beads, handcrafted in the spirit of a centuries-old tradition.

Participants will learn how to make necklaces, anklets, and bracelets using Dhofari-inspired silver beads.
