Join Jana and Abdulaziz Malaikah for an immersive workshop blending Arabic typography, palm tree symbolism, and modern design. Participants will explore the cultural significance of the date palm while experimenting with hand-printing and digital tools to create a poster. The workshop will focus on modular typeface, Sinwaan and its potential as patterns, using stamp printing alongside digital techniques. This hands-on experience merges traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design, reflecting themes of growth, unity, and transformation.
What will you learn?
Participants will learn hand-printing and stamp techniques, focusing on creating patterns and designs using type. They will also gain skills in layout, color theory, and typographic hierarchy. By the end, participants will have a finished poster that combines analog and digital methods.
