Join us on a 3-day deep dive into Dark Room Techniques with Marwan El Mozayen.

What you will gain: You'll get to explore the Darkroom's transformative space, where the processing of every image tells a tale of renewal and interconnectedness. Learn the main darkroom techniques to develop photographic prints from exposed film، techniques such as dodging and burning can highlight or obscure elements, providing a unique perspective on the built environment. You'll also discover the unexpected synergy between analog machines, time-tested techniques, and the concept of renewal and rejuvenation illustrated by this Biennale's theme: "After Rain."

AnalogTheRoom, the UAE's first independent film camera store and lab, sprang to life thanks to Kamal and Frank, two avid film photography enthusiasts. Nestled in a quiet alley of Al Quoz, this two-story haven is dedicated to the art of film, offering a blend of education, support, and community for both expert and novice photographers through workshops, seminars, and gatherings.

Marwan El-Mozayen

Marwan El-Mozayen is a Photographer and Editor-in-Chief of SilvergrainClassics, an international journal about film photography. He is an experienced workshop presenter, passionate portrait photographer, and recently co-founded a company with actor Jeff Bridges to revive the Widelux panoramic film camera. He has worked for and with companies like Leica and Lufthansa.
