Nora Alissa
Epiphamania: The First Light
Nora Alissa was born in 1985 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. She earned a BSc in information systems from Prince Sultan University, Riyadh, in 2008 and an MA in photography and urban cultures from Goldsmiths, University of London in 2010. Her distinctive photographic work exploring urban and rural spaces—often in monochrome and utilizing blurred and overlapping images—creates an intuitive and emotional sense of place.. Besides her art practice she is also an art consultant, helping to promote visual arts in the Kingdom. 
She has participated in numerous group exhibitions, most recently The Quest for Our Next Concern, Studio AF, Riyadh (2019–2020); MNWAR 5, CAP (Contemporary Art Platform) Kuwait, MNWAR 4, Madinah Art Center, Seuils/Thresholds, Hafez Gallery, Jeddah, and Naphtha, Khuzam Palace, Jeddah (2019); Tribe: Contemporary Photography from the Arab World, American University Museum at the Katzen Arts Center, Washington, DC, and Art Dubai, (2018); 21’39 Jeddah Arts (2018 and 2017); Young International Art Fair, Le Carreau du Temple, Paris, and Incense Route: A New Wave of Contemporary Saudi Art, Segur Hall, UNESCO, Paris (2017); Shara Art Fair, Jeddah (2016 and 2015); StART art fair, Saatchi Gallery, London (2015) and le pèlerinage à La Mecque, Institut du monde arabe, Paris (2014).
