Adel Al Quraishi

Adel Al Quraishi was born in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia and graduated from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in 1990. He experimented with photography from childhood and began pursuing it seriously in 1991. Working with both analog and digital cameras, Al Quraishi is an accomplished photographer of landscapes but is best known for his sympathetic handling of human subjects. He now specializes in photographing the Haramain, and was the first photographer to be granted permission to make portraits of the Guardians of the Prophet’s Tomb.  
He has held solo exhibitions at Hafez Gallery, Jeddah (2016); and Leighton House Museum/Park Gallery, London (2015). His work has also appeared in group exhibitions, most notably MNWR, Warehouse421, Abu Dhabi, and Tribe: Contemporary Photography from the Arab World, American University Museum at the Katzen Arts Center, Washington, DC (2018); Shara Art Fair, Jeddah, and START Art Fair Doha (2017);Bab Jeddah, L’Art Pur, Riyadh (2016); and Word and Illumination, Madinah (2014). He has published two books of photographs, The Guardians in 2020 and Al Astar in 2022.
